Stay Warm With Shearling Flipflops

Want something unique for your indoor footwear collection? Have you looked into your wardrobe and seen only bedroom slippers for your private winter lineup? It's time to give your shoe rack a makeover! Try something new and luxurious in time for the cold season - shearling flipflops, for example.

Sure enough, shearling flipflops are fashionable, but you may also be surprised at how practical they are to have around in cold weather. They can keep your feet warm without allowing your feet to sweat - and even if you happen to be a real sweater, the material is naturally absorbent, so you don't walk around feeling sticky and uncomfortable.

Flipflops are normally associated with warm weather, tropical beaches, backyard barbecues and sunny outdoor picnics. But flipflops, like other kinds of sandals, need not be used only within a single season! Flipflops have a naturally comfortable design; the single v-shaped top strap is unobtrusive and usually does not bite into the skin, depending on the material in which the strap is made. The minimalistic style gives the feet plenty of room to breathe, so that there is no risk of one's feet becoming too warm and sweaty, even after they have been worn for an extended period of time.

Shearling is a popular choice for indoor footwear. Australian shearling is especially treasured by collectors. It could get rather expensive, however; besides being usually imported, the process for treating and tanning animal skin in order to achieve the perfect softness and consistency of commercial shearling is quite complicated.

However, if you are an adovcate of animal rights, you might shy away from the very idea of wearing baby animal skin, which is exactly what real shearling is: the skin of a lamb. Some activists even claim that shearling is often extracted from unborn lambs that are still in the womb of slaughtered ewes, or ewes who died prematurely of illness. As serious as the allegations are, manufacturers claim there is no truth in this. To be on the safe side, stick to faux shearling flipflops - they are just as soft, just as warm, and just as fashionable, at a far less cost to your conscience and pocket!
